Fuck New York City, I’m moving to Borat’s hometown.
Well not his hometown, but Astana, KZ, a place that I admittedly knew nothing about last month. My incorrect assumption was that Kazakhstan was a place of dirt roads, livestock, and villages, but it actually looks incredibly futuristic.
Obviously where you live is a big decision. It determines who you are by determining who you are around. So who’s in Kazakhstan?
The Network School (NS).
It’s is a co-living community of people from all walks of life. Many of the people are founders, creators, and business owners, so there is lots of interesting conversations. Members host all kinds of events where they share skills they’re uniquely good at, like yoga or coding. It has a real generous culture of contributing to the tribe.
I lived at NS earlier this year when it was based in Malaysia and loved it. Initially I planned to be there for just a few months but ended up committing for a year+. I love that everything is handled for me and I can just lock in, I love that I can just come downstairs to hangout with anybody, and I love that it gets me out of my comfort zone.
Network School makes it easy to visit by providing all meals and living arrangements for you. It’s a high quality of life for $1,500/mo (rent, meals, electricity, and gym all included).
They do visits as short as one month, use my referral, and check it out with me.
